I’m off to camp with the Cubs this weekend, back Sunday. It’s not the first time we’ve headed off to the woods expecting low temperatures and I’m sure it won’t be the last. Unfortunately, the forecast looks especially grim:
Normal high for October in these parts is 13C and low is 3C. That forecast is from Environment Canada, but I think I like the Weather Network’s version better. They’re only calling for -1C Friday night and 0C Saturday. Brrrr.
This will be an interesting camp for me in that I have no kids in the pack this year. Phil’s moved up to Scouts and Cameron’s in Beavers for a few years yet. The Beaver colony is coming out for the day on Saturday, so Bridget gets to finally get a taste of what Otter Lake is really like.
Don’t forget your longjohns!
You are off to camp in the cold with children? May god preserve you, and your sanity.
Perhaps this should have been posted on your apiculture site but it looks like theres not much current activity over there. Don’t know if you care about such things but when I strayed upon your link in my bookmarks, it occurred to me that reading your site engendered my interest in bees and I wanted to profer thanks . I’m still in the processof it all and attempting to run across a hive design I can build as opposed to purchase. Just learning ,but i’ve got a garage full of tools and am not to enthralled with laying out 350.oo for 2 hives. I also wanted to express appreciation for your proxy tutorials. I’ve never had need to utilize a proxy but it was useful info to pass on to my brother overseas who’s often blocked from many sites . I also should stop being lazy and incorporate a proxy system into my current browser. If i’ve read it right, firefox 3 plus is not fond of the current software..i’m assuming an install of 2.14 would work.Regardless, thank. You have a great site and the info is appreciated.
Oh man I do not envy you a bit. I hope you all survived without numb limbs and were able to do your activities.
