If I suddenly disappear from view (other than family vacation next week), you’ll know why. I sent this to our Prime Weasel yesterday:
Re: Grits lash out at PM for ‘reprehensible’ comments
Messr’s Harper and Baird:
I wholeheartedly agree with Mr. Rae’s characterization of your comments today: reprehensible. To suggest that anyone wanting to get to the bottom of allegations of complicity in war crimes is anything less than patriotic is to do a disservice to the brave men and women who serve now and have fought and died before them.
Self-serving politicians who do nothing but blither and hide the truth are the less than patriotic ones. Critically thinking Canadians support the Opposition’s effort to get to the bottom of these allegations because they are attempting to find the truth. If you and the military have nothing to hide, then you have nothing to fear. By standing in the way of a legal inquiry such as you are only serves to continue to tarnish the image our our brave men and women in uniform. The longer that you refuse to cooperate, the worse it looks.
Mr. Harper, if you had had the stones to come clean on this when it first arose instead of allowing your ongoing contempt for parliament to colour your judgement, it could have been dealt with immediately. Now, the pair of you look like fools with their hands caught in the proverbial cookie jar. Mr. Colvin’s honesty and reputation are unassailable and the more you attack him, the lower the country’s opinion of you sinks.
Come clean and get it over with. The truth with set you free, but not if you continue these schoolyard bully tactics. Your mothers taught you both better than that.
Funny, no response yet.

It’s been nice knowing you.
