You may have heard of a very cool band called OK Go. They made a huge splash last year with their video for Here It Goes Again. It features some amazing antics on treadmills.

Their current single, This Too Shall Pass, has been treated to two different videos. The first, in January, included the Notre Dame marching band. The second one, posted on Sunday, has the most amazing Rube Goldberg machine I’ve ever seen.

The contraption was built by Syyn Labs:

The requirements were that it had to be interesting, not “overbuilt” or too technology-heavy, and easy to follow.  The machine also had to be built on a shoestring budget, synchronize with beats and lyrics in the music and end on time over a 3.5 minute song, play a part of the song, and be filmed in one shot.  To make things more challenging still, the space chosen was divided into two floors and the machine would use both.

Jim, my eldest has been to science camp here at Queen’s a couple of times and they always build one. He got a bit bored with it the year that he went two weeks in a row .. LOL
